Hello my name is Natasha im from Taunton In Somerset I’m 38 years old I have two children and due to get married in 3 months. In June 2021 I went for a eye test where they discovered I had something pushing on my optic nerve i then underwent a mri scan that determined I have a left sided optic nerve sheath meningioma I was then put on a waiting list with Mir checks every few months to check on the growth of my tumour.In July 2022 my mum become very Ill she was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer we only had 7 weeks before she passed in September 2022 .In December 2022 I got a call for my surgery where I had a craniotomy and resection of some of the tumour with it being in a tricky position I was in surgery for 10 hours unfortunately I have lost the site in my left eye and have 6th nerve palsy. I was doing really well wedding planning looking forward to my future. I then got a call from Bristol hospital telling me my tumour is growing I have been told my opinion are repeated surgery that will come with complications to my good eye where I could lose my complete sight I want to avoid this my sigh is very important to me I want to protect my sight with everything .My other opinion is vmap radiotherapy which comes with a wide range of side effects which include on-site of seizures, memory loss, loss of concentration, damage to my pituitary gland will then be table for life, stroke, extreme fatigue I all ready suffer with chronic fatigue syndrome and loss of vision to my right eye. All these factors are very detrimental for me. However I have found a alternative therapy called proton beam therapy this had less side effects little radiation spill over protecting adjacent structures this therapy is a lot safer and is used for optic nerve brain tumour this is not available on the nhs and only in two locations in the uk London and Manchester this treatment costs £37000 I believe this treatment would be beneficial for me due to the low risk and side effects to my body with my body already compromised.

I do want to be able to watch my children grow see my grandchildren look at weddings pictures see the world as everyone else I just need help funding this treatment so if anyone is able to help in anyway they can I will be forever thankful.Thank you for taking the time to read my story Natasha xx
